Tamarindo Diving
Explore some great scuba diving at the islands off Tamarindo
This Tamarindo diving trip goes to the Catalina Islands, which is a group of different volcanic rock formations that emerge to the surface at the Flamingo Bay. These circumstances provide the special setting for the abundant marine life.
The Flamingo Marina, located just 20 miles away, is your gateway to experiencing Tamarindo’s premier scuba diving adventures. Dive into the vibrant waters of Las Catalinas, teeming with marine life. Encounter majestic manta rays, white-tip reef sharks, spotted eagle rays, and devil rays. You’ll also marvel at schools of cow nose rays, jacks, and grunts—some of the most commonly spotted species in these thriving underwater ecosystems.
The bottom is mostly volcanic and the average maximum depth is 70 – 80 feet. Visibility, currents and conditions in general tend to change every day. Currents, when present, are not strong, divers drift with it and the boat follows to pick them up at the end of the dive. Visibility varies from 30 feet to 60-70 feet, depending on the day and the season. Our Tamarindo diving operator works under the PADI Association rules.
