Logan International Announces New Nonstop Flight to Costa Rica

International travel from the East Coast just got even easier with Boston’s Logan International Airport announcing 8 new nonstop destinations for travelers. Among the new destinations is Liberia, Costa Rica, the country’s second international airport. The new nonstop flight to Liberia makes getting to the beautiful beaches of Costa Rica’s Pacific coast even easier and faster.

The Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia, Costa Rica is just a short hour drive to the gorgeous beaches of the Guanacaste region, not to mention some of the country’s world famous surf spots. The nonstop flights from Logan International Airport are operated by Jet Blue and total flight time is 5 hours and 45 minutes. Add on the hour drive from the airport to the beach and jet setting to Central America for a long weekend starts to sound like a really great idea.

Guanacaste is home to some of Costa Rica’s most beautiful and visited beaches and the area is a must for any surfer from anywhere in the world. Famous surf spots like Ollie’s Point and Witch’s Rock are accessible from the popular beach town, Tamarindo, which sees visitors from all over the world, year round. Many surf camps and surf schools offer packages for those visitors who want to learn how to catch a wave or improve their skill set. Package surf vacations are a great way to spend a week or two, getting to know the area, the local breaks, the ideal conditions, and the way around. While Guanacaste is home to the second international airport in the country, the region still holds some antiquated charms with dirt road, unmarked trails, and secret surf locations. Surf camps and surf schools are a great way to discover more than the guide books have to offer and now with nonstop flights from Boston, uncovering these hidden gems just got even easier.

Joining a surf camp or surf school isn’t the only way to spend a vacation in Costa Rica, of course. Also nearby to The Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia are several of Costa Rica’s amazing national parks, including Rincon de la Vieja, where visitors can experience the natural beauty of this tiny country, rich in biodiversity. The Guanacaste region is also full of fabulous accommodations, suited for a wide variety of budgets so travelers of all kind can find the perfect place to stay. If signing up for a surf camp or surf school, accommodations may be included, but if not, visitors can check out The Flamingo Beach Resort a favorite of supermodel Gisele Bundchen and husband Tom Brady. While you won’t find the best waves at Flamingo Beach, you won’t be far from some of the top spots, located in and Tamarindo Beach.
